In 2019 Rachel was asked to light a new play written by Kevin Fegan: Bess the Commoner Queen directed by Rikki Tarascas. Heading out on a national tour between March – June 2019 Bess the Commoner Queen tells the story of Bess of Hardwick lady in waiting to Elizabeth I and confidante to Mary Queen of Scots .
